About This Event

The Junkyard Innovators Challenge is a thrilling team-based competition where participants transform workshop mystery junk components into functional models. Each team (2-4 members) must construct a designated object using only the provided materials, with creativity and technical skill playing a key role. Teams passing the qualifying test advance to the next round, with bonus points for early completion and penalties for exceeding time limits. Judging is based on originality, craftsmanship, and functionality, while safety protocols must be strictly followed. This event pushes innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork to the next level!

Rules and Regulations

Team Composition:

  • Each team must have a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 4 members.

Challenge Format:

  • Teams will receive a mystery junk component based on a theme and must use it to build a designated object.

Object Construction:

  • An example object will be shown, and teams must build a similar object using various junk materials.
  • Teams that replicate the object will qualify for the next round.
  • Additional creativity points will be awarded only for unique and innovative models.
  • The built object must pass a qualifying test before the team can proceed further.
  • If no participant clears the stage, innovation and creativity will be considered for qualification at any stage of the event.
  • Teams must design and build their object within the prescribed time frame. Lesser time taken will earn bonus points, while extra time taken for building the product will result in penalty points being deducted from the final score. Exceeding time limits may result in penalties.

Material Usage:

  • Teams must use only the materials provided in the junkyard.
  • Different materials will be provided, and the usage of each material will carry specific points. Using extra materials beyond the prescribed limit will result in a loss of points.
  • Purchased materials are strictly prohibited.

Project Demonstration:

  • Teams must demonstrate their object’s functionality upon completion.

Independent Work:

  • Teams must work independently without external assistance.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Teams must follow all safety protocols.
  • Proper protective gear must be worn at all times.

Time Penalties:

  • Teams exceeding the time limit may receive penalties, impacting their final score.
  • If a participant chooses extra time, 5 points will be deducted for an additional 5 minutes.
